Washington, D.C. – The House Judiciary Committee today approved a bill by a vote of 14-10 to reauthorize U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to maintain the generosity and integrity of America’s legal immigration system. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Reauthorization Act (H.R. 2407), authored by Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), reauthorizes the agency, which is tasked with processing immigrant and nonimmigrant benefits petitions for those seeking temporary visas, lawful permanent residence, international adoption, and others.

Washington, D.C. – The House Judiciary Committee today approved the Michael Davis, Jr. and Danny Oliver in Honor of State and Local Law Enforcement Act (H.R. 2431) by a vote of 19-13. This bill, introduced by Immigration and Border Security Subcommittee Vice-Chairman Raúl Labrador (R-Idaho) and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), strengthens immigration enforcement, enhances public safety, protects national security, and ensures the rule of law.
