Washington, D.C.— On Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at 4:00 p.m., the Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law will hold a hearing entitled, “International Antitrust Enforcement: China and Beyond.”
The hearing will focus on the enforcement of antitrust and competition laws against companies and citizens that engage in the ever-expanding global marketplace. Specifically, the hearing will focus on China’s enforcement of its competition laws and the potential impact of China’s enforcement on other international jurisdictions.

Chairman Goodlatte: In February of 2015, this committee held a hearing on civil asset forfeiture. In the intervening months, the committee has continuously met with and discussed this issue with reformers, law enforcement agencies, and members and staff in an attempt to find a bill that strikes the proper balance between the need to ensure that criminals do not retain the profits of their crimes and the need to protect Americans’ property rights.
