Washington, DC - Ranking Member Lamar Smith (R-TX) today introduced H.R. 4471, a bill that revises the Immigration and Nationality Act, to make clear that revocation of an alien’s visa or other documentation is not subject to judicial review.  Senator Chuck Grassley introduced a companion bill in the U.S. Senate.

Washington, DC - Ranking Member Lamar Smith (R-TX) issued the following statement today in response to a news report regarding illegal immigrants who were caught-and-released en route to work at Gillette Stadium last week.  According to the story, dozens of illegal immigrants said they were detained and processed then driven back to the stadium by federal agents.  According to one of the illegal immigrants quoted in the story, “They told us if you want to go to work, you can go to work.”

Washington, D.C.-House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Lamar Smith (R-Texas) joined top Republicans on the House Armed Services, Appropriations, Intelligence, and Homeland Security committees today in sending a letter to President Obama outlining six initial steps that the Administration should take to help improve American security in the wake of the attempted terrorist bombing of Northwest Flight 253 on Christmas Day.
