Washington, D.C. – Next Tuesday, February 3 at 11:00 a.m., the House Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on the lack of interior enforcement of immigration laws in the United States and how it has led to a broken immigration system. The hearing, entitled “Examining the Adequacy and Enforcement of Our Nation’s Immigration Laws,” will take place in 2141 Rayburn House Office Building and will be webcast live at /. Witnesses for the hearing will be announced later this week.

Similar legislation passed the House of Representatives with a bipartisan vote last Congress.

Washington, D.C. – The House of Representatives passed H.R. 7, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, by a vote of 242-179 on the 42nd anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion in the United States. The No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act was introduced by Congressman Chris Smith (R-N.J.). Similar legislation passed in the House of Representatives last Congress.

Washington, D.C. – The House Judiciary Committee today unanimously approved four bills to combat the growing problem of human trafficking in the United States. The Committee first approved by voice vote the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act (H.R. 181), a comprehensive anti-human trafficking bill authored by Congressman Ted Poe (R-Texas).
