Washington, D.C. -- House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas), House Judiciary Committee Immigration and Border Security  Subcommittee Chairman Raúl Labrador (R-Idaho), House Homeland Security Border, and Maritime Security Subcommittee Chairwoman Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) will hold a press conference on WEDNESDAY at 3:30 PM ET to unveil the Securing America’s Future Act.

Washington, D.C. - Today, the House Judiciary Committee approved by voice vote the Preventing Crimes Against Veterans Act of 2017 (H.R. 506). This bipartisan legislation punishes those who knowingly scheme to defraud veterans of their federal benefits. Specifically, this bill closes a loophole that allows bad actors to escape punishment by committing the fraud in person.
