WASHINGTON, D.C. - The House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, and the Internet will hold a hearing on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. ET. The hearing, "IP and Strategic Competition with China: Part IV - Patents, Standards, and Lawfare," will examine the role of standard essential patents (SEPs) in the strategic competition between the United States and the People's Republic of China (PRC), including recent developments with respect to international technical standards, SEP policies in the PRC and other jurisdictions, SEP licensing practices involving the PRC, the weaponization of courts and legal processes, and the impact on American innovators and businesses.
