Washington, D.C. – The House Judiciary Committee today approved the Innovation Act (H.R. 9) by an overwhelming vote of 24-8.  This bipartisan bill takes steps to combat the ever increasing problem of abusive patent litigation.  The legislation addresses abusive practices taking place in our courts.

Washington, D.C.— Today, the House Judiciary Committee approved the Foreign Cultural Exchange Jurisdictional Immunity Clarification Act (H.R. 889) by a voice vote.

Through a change in the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, this legislation bolsters the ability of U.S. museums and schools to borrow foreign government-owned artifacts and artwork from other cultures around the world.

Washington, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 235, the Permanent Internet Tax Freedom Act (PITFA), by a voice vote. This broadly bipartisan legislation permanently bans states from taxing Internet access or placing multiple or discriminatory taxes on e-commerce. PITFA keeps the Internet affordable and drives innovation by banning access taxes permanently.
