Washington, D.C. – The House Judiciary Committee has announced a markup for Thursday, February 11, 2016 and revised its schedule, including time changes for two hearings, for the week of February 8-12, 2016.

- H.R. 2947, the “Financial Institution Bankruptcy Act of 2015”: This bill is a product of the Judiciary Committee’s long-standing oversight of U.S. bankruptcy laws as well as the Committee’s recent examination into improving the bankruptcy laws for the resolution of financial institutions. The bill adds a new subchapter V to chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code to address the resolution of financial institutions, including large, multi-national financial firms.
- H.R. 759, the “Recidivism Risk Reduction Act”: At the markup, an amendment in the nature of a substitute will be offered to H.R. 759. The ANS reforms the federal prison system to strengthen public safety, enhance prison security, help inmates get the care they need, and protect civil liberties.
