Regulatory Reform Subcommittee to Hold Hearing on International Antitrust Enforcement

Washington, D.C. -- On Thursday, June 29, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., the Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law will hold a hearing entitled, “Recent Trends in International Antitrust Enforcement.”
The hearing will examine recent trends in international enforcement of antitrust and competition laws, with a focus on the “Report and Recommendations” of the International Competition Policy Expert Group, commissioned by the Chamber of Commerce. As commerce becomes an increasingly global enterprise, the manner in which antitrust and competition laws are applied to companies and citizens located or engaged in business outside of the United States has risen significantly in importance.
The witnesses for Thursday’s hearing will be:
- Deborah A. Garza, Partner and Co-chair, Antitrust and Competition Law Practice Group, Covington & Burling LLP
- Koren W. Wong-Ervin, Director of the Global Antitrust Institute (GAI) and an Adjunct Professor of Law at Antonin Scalia Law School, George Mason University
- Alden Abbott, Deputy Director of the Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies and the John, Barbara, and Victoria Rumpel Senior Legal Fellow at the Heritage Foundation
- Eleanor M. Fox, Walter J. Derenberg Professor of Trade Regulation, New York University School of Law
- Randy M. Stutz, Associate General Counsel, American Antitrust Institute
