Crime Subcommittee to Hold Hearing on Preventing Violence in America

Washington, D.C. - On Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., the Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations Subcommittee will hold a hearing titled, “Preventable Violence in America: An Examination of Law Enforcement Information Sharing and Misguided Public Policy.” The hearing will examine the lapses that occur at federal, state, and local law enforcement levels with regards to information sharing about potential mass shooting events, including the recent shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. It will also examine misguided public policy decisions that prevent law enforcement from interceding against violent individuals at schools.
