Collins statement on Justice Department’s effort to negotiate with Judiciary Democrats

May 6, 2019
WASHINGTON — Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.), Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement in response to the Justice Department’s efforts to continue negotiations with House Judiciary Committee Democrats regarding the special counsel’s investigation. “The attorney general continues to offer accommodations to Chairman Nadler. After far exceeding what the regulations require and offering to field questions from Congress, the attorney general faces demands from Democrat leadership who refuse to read the information he’s offered. I appreciate the respect Attorney General Barr is showing our committee by responding to a deluge of perverse demands. So far, he has honored Congress by being faithful to the laws we have enacted, and I look forward to a productive, bipartisan meeting this Wednesday.”
