WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government will hold a hearing on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. ET. The hearing, "Sharia-Free America: Why Political Islam & Sharia Law Are Incompatible with the U.S. Constitution," will discuss efforts to establish alternative, Sharia law-based legal and civic institutions, how these alternative institutions are contrary to America's founding principles, and how they may violate federal law and the Constitution. The hearing will also examine proposed legislative reforms that would protect all Americans from efforts to establish alternative, Sharia-based institutions.
