WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet will hold a hearing on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. ET. The hearing, "Protecting U.S. Leadership in Codes Development and Enhancing Public Access," will examine how to preserve the United States' leadership in the development of codes and standards, such as through the Pro Codes Act, by balancing copyrights with public access to privately developed codes that are incorporated by reference into law.
