WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance will hold a hearing on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. ET. The hearing, "Oversight of the Federal Bureau of Prisons," will examine the Bureau of Prison's (BOP) operations, management, and staffing challenges. The hearing will also examine allegations of disparate treatment of inmates in BOP custody for political reasons and reports that BOP is denying Members of this Committee the ability to meet and speak with inmates in BOP custody.
