Washington, D.C. – House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) today released the following statement on President Trump’s signing of a National Security Presidential Memorandum to establish a National Vetting Center (NVC):

“The President carried through on yet another promise to the American people.  The establishment of the National Vetting Center, within the Department of Homeland Security, will streamline information sharing and strengthen the vetting process for individuals wishing to come to our country.

“Terrorists have made it clear that they will exploit our nation’s immigration system to harm Americans and our interests. The National Vetting Center will help ensure we know who is coming to our country so that we protect American citizens and our interests.”
