Washington, D.C. – House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) issued subpoenas earlier this week to former FBI Director James Comey and former US Attorney General Loretta Lynch to come before the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees for a deposition for Mr. Comey on December 3, 2018 at 10:00a.m., and Ms. Lynch on December 4, 2018 at 10:00a.m., as part of the Committees’ joint investigation into decisions made by the Department of Justice in 2016. The Committees have repeatedly requested to interview Mr. Comey and Ms. Lynch respectively regarding their roles in certain decisions, but they have yet to voluntarily appear.

Last year, the House Judiciary Committee and House Oversight and Government Reform Committee announced a joint investigation into decisions made by the Justice Department in 2016. To date, the Committees have interviewed many key witnesses and have reviewed thousands of documents.
